Crailing Eckford & Nisbet Community Website

Welcome to the Crailing, Eckford and Nisbet Community website.  These three tranquil villages, located between Kelso and Jedburgh just off the A698 and nestled either side of the River Teviot are set in stunning scenery and abound with community spirit, wildlife and an abundance of fresh air.  In the 18th century this was predominantly an agricultural area although the numbers of people who worked the land are now vastly reduced there are still hamlets remaining such as Caverton, Cessford, Grahamslaw, Ormiston & Ulston all with their own stories to tell. This boundary map  identifies our Community Council area.

This interactive website aims to keep residents engaged and informed on what is happening in their local area whilst at the same time demonstrating to potential visitors and future residents what a truly wonderful place we have the good fortune to live in.

We have a proactive Community Council and Eckford Village Hall and Lothian Hall, Crailing host events throughout the year and both are available for private hires such as family gatherings, committee meetings, training days etc - Covid Permitting!   Please visit the Scottish Borders Council website for the most up to date Covid information.

We invite you to explore out website and supply appropriate content for our website (photographs and text).  Please visit the 'HISTORICAL', 'BUSINESS' and 'EVENTS' sections where you will find guidance on how to submit content which will be subject to approval before going live on the site. For further information 'CONTACT US' or email cencomms@hotmail.co.uk

Note: By submitting an image to this website you give permission for the Community Council to publish it on your behalf and unless anonimity is requested your name will appear against the image.  Copyright is retained by the creators of the images that appear on this website.
