Borders Buses is getting into the festive spirit early this year, confirming its Christmas and New Year service levels and unwrapping a sleigh-load of Black Friday savings to help locals travel for less over the festive period.

From Monday 22 December right through to Sunday 04 January, most services across the Borders will run to a mix of Saturday and Sunday timetables — perfect for last-minute shopping dashes, festive nights out and those slightly slower mornings after them. As usual, buses will wind down early on Christmas Eve and Hogmanay, giving drivers time to start celebrating too.

There will be no services on 25–26 December or 01–02 January, as drivers enjoy a well-deserved break. Full details, including early finish times for the X62, X95 and B1, can be found on the Borders Buses app and website.

Bus users are also in for a treat, as the company’s Black Friday discounts are back, and they’re making Christmas travel a whole lot cheaper. Borders Buses will roll out its annual Black Friday ticket deals on Friday 28 November 2025, offering reduced fares across the network and valid until 28 February 2026, a welcome boost for wallets feeling the festive pinch.

With a standard Borderless app single normally costing £6.10, the savings are hard to miss: customers can snap up 100 single app tickets for £170, 50 for £110 or 10 for £30, making festive travel much cheaper, whether it’s for Christmas shopping, family visits, winter outings or the daily commute.

Our festive service levels, along with our Black Friday ticket offers, ensure clear travel information throughout December and early January, and reduced seasonal pricing up to the end of February.
